Canfield Business Honors Program

I can confidently say the instruction and advising from Canfield professors and advisors have enriched my time in McCombs—but it’s the Canfield community and lifelong friendships that have made my time in the program unforgettable.
— William O. Acheampong, Class of 2021 Canfield Business Honors Program and Humanities Honors
  • Canfield Business Honors majors graduate with a BBA in Business Honors and have the opportunity to learn with a specialized case-based curriculum in small groups.

Students have exclusive access to honors classes, networking opportunities, special events and a study abroad program. They receive personal career coaching, and graduates have a 100% job placement rate for those seeking industry positions.

  • Freshmen and First Year (Sophomore) Transfer, open to all students at UT Austin and outside the University. Application and acceptance to McCombs is required for finalist consideration.

Admission to the Canfield Business Honors Program is limited to a small number of exceptional students who are chosen on a competitive basis. Admission decisions are made by the Canfield Business Honors Program Committee. Most students enter the program as freshmen, but some are admitted as sophomores. The entering class size is roughly 200 students per cohort, including students pursuing our joint programs.

  • Students entering the University and the McCombs School of Business as freshmen may apply to the Canfield Business Honors Program by completing a separate online application available through The University of Texas at Austin Office of Admissions. The Canfield Business Honors Program Committee considers the student’s SAT Reasoning Test or ACT scores, high school class rank, preparatory courses, extracurricular activities, evidence of leadership ability, and other objective criteria.

Students may also seek admission to the Canfield Business Honors Program during the spring semester of their freshman year to begin taking courses as a sophomores.

Application materials and information about deadlines are available on the program webpage.
